What is brain fitness? Brain fitness is training your brain to keep it challenged, healthy and sharp. The Marbles approach to brain fitness is to provide games, books, puzzles and software programs that are engaging, challenging and fun. Our goal is to encourage you to learn something new and have fun while you're at it.

Do brain games really work? Research now shows that the brain has the ability to generate cells throughout life and that participating in new and challenging activities can help people maintain and improve cognitive function as they age. The games, books, puzzles and brain fitness software program offered at Marbles offer one type of cognitive stimulation. Such stimulation is an important element in helping to delay or prevent debilitating diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's. There are even studies that show the impact of brain training on multi-tasking, attention, and mood for people of all ages. (See our research section to learn more)

How do you select your products? Our products come from over 100 different vendors. We try to find the most unique, highest quality brain boosting games, books, puzzles and software out there and bring them to you all in one place. To make sure our products are delivering a brain workout, we have brain health experts including neurologists, cognitive therapists, and scientists review each item.

How do I know what to buy? All of our products are divided into categories and subcategories by function. For example if you are looking for a word game, try our word skills section. If you are looking for something related to concentration and attention, try our memory or critical thinking categories. Do you sell anything for kids? Yes! Many of our products are suitable for kids ages 5 and up. Do you have products that are good for English as a Second Language or that have directions in a other languages? Yes, we do carry a variety of products that good for ESL students. We would recommend the Word Skills section as a place to start. In terms of products with directions in multiple languages please refer to our product guide called Other Language Instructions.

My dad is 70. Do you have anything for him? Definitely. Not only do we have many games and books that we think older adults will enjoy, many of our brain fitness software programs such as Posit Science Brain Fitness Program, Insight and Dakim, were designed for people who do not have prior experience using a computer. I'm a teacher. Do you have anything that would be good for a classroom setting? Absolutely. Many of our products are appropriate in the classroom. For children who struggle with attention and fidgeting, Tangle Therapy is an effective item. Our Genius Decks consist of different logic puzzles that can be effective ice breakers. I or someone close to me has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. Do you have anything to help me? Please know that we feel for each and every one of you whether you are the one inflicted or the caretaker. Can you prevent Alzheimer's Disease? Though there is no current cure, researchers are learning more about Alzheimer's every day, including ways to treat the disease or delay its onset as well as identifying risk factors that play a role in the likelihood of developing the disease. Your age, family history, genetics and general health may all offer clues to whether or not you are at risk personally. By answering a few questions about your medical history, your family's medical history, and your lifestyle, our Marbles Brain Health Barometer will help you identify your personal risk factors for developing Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive impairments. Where are your stores located? We currently have four stores in the Chicagoland area - on Grand Avenue in downtown Chicago, at the Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie, on Lincoln Ave in Lincoln Square, and on Washington Ave in Naperville.
